January 2008
Let's gear up for 2008
Was it difficult for you to pack up your holiday ornaments?
Transitioning after the holidays can be an adjustment. As I was taking down my ornaments, I found myself just longing for December 2008. I visualized opening up my ornament box next holiday season when I suddenly realized that I have no way of knowing what life will be like 12 months from now. I wish folks a “happy New Year”, and I have all my hopes and plans, but I also know that life doesn’t always go the way I want it to. This made me think of a film I'd like to recommend to you.
We are Marshall
Put it at the top of your Netflix Que. This is a film based on a true story set in Huntington, West Virginia. The movie gives an account of the ups and downs of the Marshall University football team and about the importance of the University team staying in the game. The underlying message is that despite trauma and loss we become champions, not when we win, but when we do our best and continue playing the game.
And so I wish you a Happy New Year. May you experience joy and peace and prosperity. May you grow in perseverance as a result of your challenges.
I have two upcoming events. I would love you to attend if these are of interest to you:
1. Child-Parent Relational Training: Parenting Group
10 week group starting January 28th in Carlsbad
2. LifeWorks Speaking Engagement: February 8, 11:30
Feelings and our Faith: Fresh, frozen or fermented - what’s in your emotional fridge?
All the best for 2008. Let’s go Chargers...oops I mean Marshall!
Regards,
Kathryn
